Description	:	James A. Still, second son of Nelson and Elizabeth Still, was born May 13, 1883, near Leon and departed this life August 16, 1930, at University Hospital at Iowa City, Iowa. His death took place after an illness of several months, during which time he bore his intense suffering with patience. He united in marriage to Christina Kyle on February 26, 1908. To this union were born three daughters, Miss Viola Pauline and Mrs. Verma LaRue Adams of Leon and Veta naomi, who died in infancy. His death took place after an illness of several months, during which time he bore his intense suffering with patience. He united in marriage to Christina Kyle on February 26, 1908. To this union were born three daughters, Miss Viola Pauline and Mrs. Verma LaRue Adams of Leon and Veta naomi, who died in infancy. He united with the New Salem Baptist church on January 13, 1913, to which he always was a faithful member, always carring out the principles of the church in his dealings with his fellow-men. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of Leon. Besides his wife and two daughters he is survived by his aged mother, Mrs. J. N. Still of Leon, his two brothers, Alvin of Leon and Earl of Kellerton, four sisters, Mrs. J. M. Osborn of Blythedale, Mo., Mrs. Clyde Waller of Akeley, Minn., Mrs. H. S. Marble of Fulton, Mo., and Mrs. R. C. Craigo of Weldon. His brother William passed away eight years ago. Besides the remaining members of the the family are a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. James was a well known local hardware dealer in the City of Leon.
