Description	:	James “Jim” Alan Harrington, 61, died January 14, 2016, at his home. He was born on April 3, 1954, in Ottawa, Kansas, to Francis L. and Merdella B. (Ast) Harrington. Jim graduated from Nickerson High School in 1972, and then served in the United States Navy from 1972 to 1976. He received his Associate’s Degree from Hutchinson Community College and then attended Emporia State University. Jim worked at the Le Chateau Hotel in New Orleans, LA, for 16 years before returning to Hutchinson, where he worked for a number of automobile dealerships and then for his brother at Rick’s... Read More	James “Jim” Alan Harrington, 61, died January 14, 2016, at his home. He was born on April 3, 1954, in Ottawa, Kansas, to Francis L. and Merdella B. (Ast) Harrington. Jim graduated from Nickerson High School in 1972, and then served in the United States Navy from 1972 to 1976. He received his Associate’s Degree from Hutchinson Community College and then attended Emporia State University. Jim worked at the Le Chateau Hotel in New Orleans, LA, for 16 years before returning to Hutchinson, where he worked for a number of automobile dealerships and then for his brother at Rick’s Dozer Service for the last 5 years. Jim is survived by: brothers, Rick (Katie) of Hutchinson, and Michael, of Abilene; sisters, Karen Patterson (Leon) of Hutchinson, Janet Wolfenbarger (Marshall) of Sharps Chapel, Tenn., and Rhonda Reusser (Alan) of Hutchinson. He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Francis Lloyd Harrington; and sister, Sheryl Ann Harrington. Cremation has taken place. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016, in St. Joseph Cemetery, Abilene, KS, with Father Henry Baxa officiating.
