James was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Sharp. He was drafted for the Infantry May 13th, 1917, and served ten months in the world war. Obituary from The St. Clair County Republican, Osceola, St. Clair, MO, Thursday, Nov. 23, 1922: James Sharp Jr. was born in Polk County, Missouri, June 14, 1895, and departed this life November 13th, 1922, aged twenty-seven years, four months, and twenty-nine days. James was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Sharp. He was drafted for the Infantry May 13th, 1917, and served ten months in the world war. He was united in marriage with Miss Alice Kirkendall of Humansville January 7, 1920, and to this union one child was born, a boy of nine months. He was taken to the Veterans Hospital at Kansas City where he died a week later, following an operation for appendicitis, and also being afflicted with pneumonia. He leaves to mourn his departure a wife, son, mother, father, three brothers and four sisters and a host of other relatives and friends.
