Description	:	"James Albert Terrill was born near Green Mountain December 26, 1873, the son of the late Oscar and Desira Terrill. He was a member of Company H 49th Iowa Volunteer infantry during the Spanish War. He enlisted at Cedar Rapids June 22, 1898, and was discharged at Marshalltown January 11, 1899, because of disability following a protracted run of typhoid fever. While recovering he was furloughed home and then discharged. He was united in marriage to Miss Ella Shipton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Shipton of Green Mountain, February 7, 1899. He was a member of Company H 49th Iowa Volunteer infantry during the Spanish War. He enlisted at Cedar Rapids June 22, 1898, and was discharged at Marshalltown January 11, 1899, because of disability following a protracted run of typhoid fever. While recovering he was furloughed home and then discharged. He was united in marriage to Miss Ella Shipton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Shipton of Green Mountain, February 7, 1899. Two sons, Ross and Everett, were born to them. The elder son is a veteran of the World War. He enlisted January 14, 1918, serving overseas eleven months, and receiving his discharge in March, 1919. He reenlisted January 19 last and has since been at Camp Alfred Vail, in New Jersey. The younger son lives at home. A brother, Ed Terrill of Lamoille, and a half sister Mrs. Hattie Gallinary and a half brother, Rush Wing, both of Chicago also survive. Last year Mr. Terrill bought the Leroy Thompson farm northeast of Green Mountain where the Terrill family moved last March. Mr. Terrill was a member of the Carlton Brethren church. He came into the church two years ago during a meeting held by Evangelist Frank G. Coleman, of Leon. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon of last week. There was a short service at the house, and the regular service held at the Green Mountain church, where interment was made. Evangelist Coleman was called for the funeral sermon. The other parts of the service were in charge of Rev. F. Ankrum, assisted by Rev. Warner of the Congregational church. The body bearers were all Spanish-American war veterans. Five of them were members of Mr. Terrill's own company. The fine floral tributes and the many people who gathered at the church though roads that were bad showed the esteem with which Mr. Terrill was held. Rev. Coleman left immediately after the service for a day in Macon, Missouri, before he opened his next meeting at Mt. Etna." Newspaper obituary, publisher unknown, date written on clipping Dec. 1920.
