Description	:	Son of Clinton Hargrave and his wife, Martha Sutton. James' father died when he was very young, and his mother remarried to William David Richards; at that time, James was placed with others to be raised. He settled in the Grinnell, Iowa area when he was 21 years of age. James married Irma Georgiana Royce at the home of her parents, near Malcom, on 2 August 1904. They farmed near Montezuma until retiring in 1956. Surviving with his wife were daughters Marjorie and Lois; son George; and 3 grandchildren.	Son of Clinton Hargrave and his wife, Martha Sutton.
