He was born July 12, 1939 to his parents, the late Horace and Ada Martin Thomas. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Minnie Murphy, Bertha Mae Bennett, and Retha Frazier; brothers, James Thomas, Joe Thomas, Eugene Thomas, and Jay Thomas. He was born July 12, 1939 to his parents, the late Horace and Ada Martin Thomas. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Minnie Murphy, Bertha Mae Bennett, and Retha Frazier; brothers, James Thomas, Joe Thomas, Eugene Thomas, and Jay Thomas. Mr. Thomas was a farmer and a Baptist. He is survived by step-son, D.L. (Diane) Murphy of McMinnville; step-grandchildren, Eddie Murphy, Tammy Murphy, and Jeff Murphy; 9 step-great-grandchildren, Daniel, Josh, Adam, Emily, Chaisty, Brooklyn, Kyra, Breanna, and Brian; several great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lou Verna Woodruff; brother, Willie (Carolyn) Thomas of Smithville; several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside services will be held Sunday August 23, 2020 at 2:00 PM at DeKalb Cemetery with Bro. Michael Hale officiating. Family and Friends will meet at the Cemetery. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
