He was the husband of the late Mary Catherine Sanders Bouey. Born May 14, 1918, in Emmitsburg, Md., where he was a lifelong resident, he was the son of the late James Edward and Blanche Hartdagen Bouey. He was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church of Emmitsburg, Md., the VFW Post 6658 of Emmitsburg, Md., the Emmitsburg Ambulance Co., the Francis X. Elder American Legion Post 121 of Emmitsburg, and the Senior Citizens of Emmitsburg. He also served at past mayor and town commissioner of Emmitsburg, was the adjutant at the VFW Post 6658 of Emmitsburg and past commander of the VFW. He served in the Army during World War II. He is survived by a son, James F. Bouey of Emmitsburg, Md.; a daughter Nancy Bouey Topper of Emmitsburg, Md.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and four brothers and sisters, Eunice Nabors, Isabelle Bouey, and Margaret Smith, all of Emmitsburg, Md., and Eugene Bouey of Olney, Md. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Emmitsburg, Md., at 8 p.m., with his pastor, the Rev. Father Alfred R. Pehrsson, as the celebrant. Friends may call at the Skiles Funeral Home in Emmitsburg Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at the Emmitsburg Memorial Cemetery at 11 a.m.
