Description	:	Son of Jesse McDuffie and Sara Elizabeth Burdette Campbell, husband of Jeanette Wilson. WHITMIRE - James Allen Campbell, 60, died this morning after a lingering illness at his home here. In his death Whitmire loses a beloved and respected citizen. Mr. Campbell had lived here for the last 15 years and had actively identified himself with both religious and civic life of the community. Read More	Son of Jesse McDuffie and Sara Elizabeth Burdette Campbell, husband of Jeanette Wilson. WHITMIRE - James Allen Campbell, 60, died this morning after a lingering illness at his home here. In his death Whitmire loses a beloved and respected citizen. Mr. Campbell had lived here for the last 15 years and had actively identified himself with both religious and civic life of the community. He had for quite a number of years been a deacon in the Baptist church and was for a number of years a member of the town council. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World and Masonic lodges. Mr. Campbell was a prominent and efficient mill man until a few years ago when he had to give up the work on account of his health. He served as superintendent of the Greenwood Mills and was until a few years ago superintendent of the spinning room here. Mr. Campbell leaves his widow; four sisters, Mrs. Nannie Chandler and Mrs. Mary Owens of Greenwood, Mrs. W. A. Morris of Seneca and Mrs. F. A. Darby of Anderson; and the following children, L. A. Campbell of Camden, Mrs. J. T. Baker of Columbia, Lillian Campbell of Henrietta, N.C., Mrs. C. L. Koon of Ware Shoals, J. O. Campbell of Henrietta, N.C., Mrs. R. M. Vannerson of Columbia, Dale Campbell of Ware Shoals, and H. W., Jennette, Roy, Keith, Bruce and Wallace all of Whitmire; and 6 grandchildren. The funeral services will be held tomorrow at 11 o'clock at the Baptist church, the Rev, J. R. McKittrick officiating. There will be Masonic rites, after which interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Greenwood. Published in The State, June 1931
