Born May 20, 1924, he was a son of the late James Allen Dozier, Sr. and Alma Smith Dozier. He was married to Martha Britt Dozier for 66 years. James Allen Dozier, Jr., of Rains, entered Heaven’s gate on Sunday, December 17, 2017. Born May 20, 1924, he was a son of the late James Allen Dozier, Sr. and Alma Smith Dozier. He was married to Martha Britt Dozier for 66 years. A lifelong member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church, Mr. Dozier taught Sunday School, served as a licensed Youth Minister, Deacon, Choir Member and held positions on committees for Stewardship, pastor search and building. He also served on the South Carolina Baptist Conference Board and enjoyed an outreach ministry for the Spring Branch Treatment Center. Sharing his faith in Christ and seeing lost souls saved remained a constant in his life even at 93. For 21 years Mr. Dozier served on the Marion County Board of Education, he was active in the establishment of Pee Dee Academy. A veteran of the US Naval SEA BEES, Mr. Dozier served his country during World War II for three years with most of his tenure in the South Pacific. He was a farmer and businessman. Surviving Mr. Dozier in addition to his wife are two daughters, Rhonda D. (John) Baker and Phyllis D. (Tommy) Miller; 4 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a grandson, Neal Baker, a granddaughter, Laura Miller and a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Louise Dozier. Funeral services will be Tuesday afternoon, December 19 at 2:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of Reedy Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. John Rogers and Rev. Darrell Floyd officiating.
