Description	:	James "Jim" Rauter of Othello/Marine View Heights, passed away of congestive heart failure at home, in his favorite recliner, on April 26, 2011. Jim was born October 27, 1943 in Lind, Washington to Royal and Elsa Rauter. He was baptized at Warden Community Church and grew up ranching and farming with his only sibling, Jerry Lee (Rauter) Chapman. Jim was always involved in the rodeo, primarily riding bareback broncos, winning numerous awards. Jim was born October 27, 1943 in Lind, Washington to Royal and Elsa Rauter. He was baptized at Warden Community Church and grew up ranching and farming with his only sibling, Jerry Lee (Rauter) Chapman. Jim was always involved in the rodeo, primarily riding bareback broncos, winning numerous awards. He graduated high school at Warden in 1961 where he enjoyed sports and obtained a baseball scholarship. Jim continued to farm in Warden with his parents. In 1962 he married Eldonna Olmsted of Warden and their daughter Sheryl (Rauter) Miller was born in 1964. The family moved to Bremerton where Jim was employed by the Kitsap County road department and they welcomed son Troy. After divorcing, Jim met his second wife, Donna Rivers, in Bremerton. They moved to Stanwood and developed three acres into a beautiful homestead. After Jim and Donna divorced, he moved to Othello at Marine View heights where he retired in 2005. Jim remained dedicated and faithful to his companion and best friend, Dawn (his chocolate lab). Jim loved to hunt and fish big game elk, deer, and antelope. He also was very enthusiastic when it came to hunting Waterfowl, Upland birds, and all other creators of habit. For years he enjoyed building up four wheel drives to get to remote areas for hunting, fishing, camping and just plain old fun. He spent lots of time in Montana hunting and fishing with his sister Jerry, and friend, Doug. Jim is survived by his parents Royal and Elsa (Trautman) Rauter of Warden; daughter Sheryl Miller of Newport; son Troy Rauter of Newport; sister Jerry (Rauter) Chapman; and three grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held at Warden Community Church on May 7, 2011. Jim was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and true friend to all.
