Description	:	James Allison Perkins Sr., passed away Monday, March 16, 2009, at his home, in the Town of Louisa, after a six month battle with cancer. He was born Thursday, September 27, 1934, at Byrd Mill in Louisa to Robert Franklin Perkins Sr. and Daisy Harlow Perkins. Allison is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia Lane Perkins, whom he married on May 17, 1963, in Charlottesville. Allison is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia Lane Perkins, whom he married on May 17, 1963, in Charlottesville. He also leaves behind his brother, Robert "Perk" Franklin Perkins Jr.; his sister, Annis Perkins Mallory; his children, Sandra Perkins Clune and her husband, Tom Clune Jr., of Louisa, James "Jay" Allison Perkins Jr. of Louisa, and Sarah Perkins Bowman of Fairhope, Alabama; his grandchildren, William Whitlock, John Castorani, Taylor Castorani and Shawn Clune, as well as many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Iris Perkins Richardson. Allison served his country in the United States Army in Germany, after which he returned home to resume his career in banking. He retired as Vice President and Manager of what is now the Bank of America in Louisa after working for 40 years. Allison saw the good in all people, and his family and community were most important to him. A founding member of the Louisa Industrial Development Authority, Trustee and Deacon of Louisa Baptist Church, a lifetime supporter of The Boy Scouts of America and recipient of the Silver Beaver award, as well as a member of Louisa Lions Club and Lion of the Year in 2008. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. and from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2009, at Woodward Funeral Home in Louisa. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2009, at Louisa Baptist Church with the Reverend Murphy Terry and the Reverend Paige Green officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Louisa Baptist Church, P.O.
