Description	:	Almond Featherstone, age 60, one of the well known men of this city, and well known in the Jackson community where he resided for many years, died at his home on North Conde street Thursday evening shortly after 3 o;clock. The deceased had been a resident for the past 14 years, removing here from Jackson, where his parents lived for many years. Read More	Almond Featherstone, age 60, one of the well known men of this city, and well known in the Jackson community where he resided for many years, died at his home on North Conde street Thursday evening shortly after 3 o;clock. The deceased had been a resident for the past 14 years, removing here from Jackson, where his parents lived for many years. For several weeks he had been confined to his home, which he purchased about a year ago, by illness, being first seized with a severe asthma attack after which heart complications developed. He had been gradually losing ground, the end having been expected for the past few days. The deceased leaves surviving him a sister, Mrs. Amanda Stout, who resides in Indianapolis and he is also survived by several nephews and nieces; Thomas Stout of this city is a nephew and a niece, Mrs. Pearl Osler, resides in Indianapolis. Another niece resides in Colorado. Rev. Ed Featherstone, of Kokomo is a cousin of the deceased. Al Featherstone was one of those unassuming characters who had many friends in this community, who will deplore the passing of this good man. He was a follower of the Golden rule teaching and was honest and met his obligations. For many years he was a member of the Mason and Odd Fellows lodges of this city and was a regular attendant. He was also a member of the Methodist church going regularly to service For many years the deceased was an employee of the Fame Canning Co., where he was a friend of all the employees and during his last illness there were many callers at the home and friends sent him flowers often. Mr. and Mrs. Gaines, who resided in a part of the house with Mr. Featherstone cared for him during his last sickness. The deceased was a son of Robert and Mary Featherstone, who came here from Ripley county and settled at Jackson more than 40 years ago. Of the three children of the couple, Mrs. Amanda Stout is the only survivor. A brother, Walter, died about four years ago. Funeral arrangements have not been completed but they will probably be held at the Baptist church in Jackson.
