Description	:	Abilene Daily Reflector February 10, 1926 James Lacy was born in Brookville, Indiana, April 9, 1847 and died here at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Elmer Dessenberger, February 3, 1926 at the age of 78 years 5 months and 28 days. He grew to manhood in Indiana and later came to Kansas, where he was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Reed in the year of 1874. To this union four daughters were born. Read More	Abilene Daily Reflector February 10, 1926 James Lacy was born in Brookville, Indiana, April 9, 1847 and died here at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Elmer Dessenberger, February 3, 1926 at the age of 78 years 5 months and 28 days. He grew to manhood in Indiana and later came to Kansas, where he was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Reed in the year of 1874. To this union four daughters were born. He came to Kansas 43 years ago and has lived here ever since. His wife preceded him in death 15 years ago. He leaves to mourn his loss, one sister, Mrs. Nora Luker of Kansas City; four daughters.. Mrs. Mattie Winnes, Mrs. Lizzie Garten, Mrs Katie Dessenberger, and Mrs. Maude Shephard, all of Abilene and 26 grandchildren also 6 great grandchildren. He is a well known citizen and will be greatly missed by his wide circle of friends. Funeral services were conducted from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Hardy Garten, by Rev. Floyd W. Atkinson, pastor of the United Brether in Christ Church. Interment in Abilene Cemetery. CARD OF THANKS We desire to express our heartfelt thanks to the friends and neighbors for their many acts of kindnesses during the illness and death of our beloved father, James Lacy.
