Description	:	COLUMBIANA - James B. Ruhl, 84, of Fairfield-School Rd., passed away peacefully at 10:00am, Thursday, September 18, 2008 at his home. Mr. Ruhl was born August 12, 1924 in Lisbon, the son of the late Earl E. and Verda B. (Snyder) Ruhl and had lived his entire life in the area. He was a self employed cabinetmaker and woodworker. He built his own beautiful log home and workshop and even built his own casket. James was a 50-year member of the Columbiana Masonic Lodge and he enjoyed watching old Western movies. Ruhl, 84, of Fairfield-School Rd., passed away peacefully at 10:00am, Thursday, September 18, 2008 at his home. Mr. Ruhl was born August 12, 1924 in Lisbon, the son of the late Earl E. and Verda B. (Snyder) Ruhl and had lived his entire life in the area. He was a self employed cabinetmaker and woodworker. He built his own beautiful log home and workshop and even built his own casket. James was a 50-year member of the Columbiana Masonic Lodge and he enjoyed watching old Western movies. He had also attended the Columbiana Methodist Church at one time. Mr. Ruhl was also a WWII U.S. Navy veteran, having served on the USS Ashland. His wife, Dorothy (Crook) Ruhl, whom he married December 28, 1947, preceded him in death April 1, 1977. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his daughters, Debbie (Paul) Long of Leetonia and Denise Ruhl of Salem; grandsons, J. Grady (Lisa) Long of Burlington, VT and Zach Long of Cincinnati; his close neighbor, Tim O'Neal; and his faithful beloved dog, Thelma Lou. Mr. Ruhl was also preceded in death by his son, Matthew Ruhl on February 19, 2007. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, September 22, 2008 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with Rev. Pamela Gable of the Lisbon First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Lisbon Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the Salineville American Legion. Friends may call from 12noon until time of service Monday at the funeral home. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made, if desired, to Angels for Animals, 4750 State Route 165, Canfield, Ohio 44406.
