He was born in Cushing,Knox Co. Maine, Sept. 21st, 1805. In 1833 he removed from his native city to Clinton, Kenebe Co.,Maine, where he remained until 1849 when he came to the great northwest and settled in Monroe, Green Co. Wis. And in 1864 he came to Chickasaw Co., Iowa. For the last thirteen years he has resided in Nashua an honored citizen and a faithful christian. He had been a member of the M.E. Church over 40 years, during which time he held the office of Class Leader, Steward and Trustee in all of which he was faithful and efficient. A little over two years ago his health began to fail and he was obligated to give up his business. For the last six months he has been confined to his bed, at times suffering the most excrutiating pain, but he bore it all with patience and resignation to God. A few hours before his death while prayer was being offered he joined heartily in the service in responses, and when asked how he felt in reguard to the future he said "all is well". Thus he died peacefully trusting in his redeemer. The funeral services were held Sabbath morning in the M.E. church, Rev. E.W. Jeffries preaching the sermon. Having resided so long in Nashua, Father Bradford had a large circle of friends and acquaintances in the city and vicinity and a very large concourse gathered at the church to participate in the services, a very large number of which could not get into the house at all but stood around the doors and windows. A large procession followed the remains to their resting place in Nashua, cemetary. His mourning widow and large family have the sympathy of the entire community. For their faithful care, during those long months of terrible suffering, of him who had now left their family circle, they will be rewarded every hour of their lives- Nashua Post, July 19, 1877
