Illinois and enlisted on August 9,1862 in the Illinois Infantry,One Hundred and Twenty-Fourth regiment,Company B.For 3 years and 6 days he bore arms in defense of the Union in the Southland.He was honorably discharged August 15,1865.He returned to his home in Illinois after the war,then on April 15,1872 came to Butler County.
