Listed as Brevet 2nd Lieutenant and present on company muster rolls dated July and Aug 1863. Listed as 2nd Lieutenant and present on muster rolls dated Sep and Oct 1863. Listed as Jr 2nd Lieutenant and present on muster rolls dated Nov 1863 to Apr 1864. On 16 May 1864 admitted to General Hospital No. 9 in Richmond, Virginia. On 17 May 1864 he was admitted to Jackson Hospital, Richmond, Virginia for a V S to the left side min(nie) ball. (He was most likely wounded at the engagement and battle, Proctor's Creek and Drewry's Bluff (Fort Darling), Va. May 12 -16, 1864. It is hard to read but the pension application about line thirteen I believe says Drewry's Bluff.). Returned to duty on 6 Jun 1864. In his pension request, submitted 2 Mar 1908 in Grayson County, Virginia, it states he enlisted at Floyd Springs, Floyd County, Georgia. It also says he had measles during the war. His wife Martha filed a request for a widow's pension on 30 Sep 1921 in Grayson County, Virginia following his death. He married Martha Charlotte Reeves on Feb 7th 1867 in Grayson County, Virginia They were the parents of 12 children.
