The funeral was largely attended by friends, neighbors, and relatives from this city. Mr. McCluer is the father of Merchant Police B.B. McCluer and Mrs. E.J. Robb, of this city. Mr. McCluer and daughters, Gerna and Marie, and Mrs. Robb went to Gilman this morning to attend the funeral. Mrs. McCluer went to Gilman Thursday. Mr. McCluer was one of the pioneer settlers of Marshall County and he had made his home in Gilman for many years. James Cross McCluer was born in East Fairfield, Columbiana County, Ohio, on February 19, 1830. On October 6, 1853, he married Mary Ann Crawford. He removed to Benton county, October, 1854, and came to LeGrand in 1857, thence to near Gilman in 1875, and into Gilman in 1888. To the above union were born eight children, four boys and four girls. They are E.C. McCluer, Alliance, Nebraska; B.B. McCluer and Mrs. E.J. Robb, of this city; F.S. and L.D. McCluer and Mesdames W. H. Vosburg, and Peter Gannon of Gilman; Nellie, who died in infancy, all the other children surviving with their mother. Added 2 Aug 2022
