Brundage, was born in Springville, Ill., Aug. 24, 1850, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E.C. Jess, Marion, Aug. 25, 1917, at the age of 67 and one day. He was married to Josephine Francis December 31, 1874. To this union seven children were born, all of whom are living except one who died in infancy. Brundage, was born in Springville, Ill., Aug. 24, 1850, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E.C. Jess, Marion, Aug. 25, 1917, at the age of 67 and one day. He was married to Josephine Francis December 31, 1874. To this union seven children were born, all of whom are living except one who died in infancy. In 1882 he united with the Christian church of Nortonsville, Kan., of which he was a member until his death. He was a kind, loving man and was liked by everyone. He was one of eight children, six of whom have preceeded him in death. One brother, John Brundage of Hamilton, Ind., still survives. He is survived by his wife, four sons, Herman of Whiting, Kan., William of Marion, Merrill and Harry of Chicago, and two daughters, Mrs. Kennedy of Chicago and Mrs. Jess of Marion. He also leaves three grandchildren. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. J.M. Wilsonof the Baptist church, Monday afternoon from the Jess home. Burial was made in Oak Shade cemetery. 1880 US census Jefferson Twp. Jefferson Co. KS: James D Brundage age 30 born IL, parents KY, a farmer; wife Josie age 24 born IA, parents VA; daughter Lillis age 5, son Herman age 3 and daughter Laura born Jan. 1880. Kids all born KS.
