Ammitson Jommard performed the ceremony. Death of Senator Williams We are grieved to learn of the death of State Senator J. Dawson Williams at his residence in Kensington on Wednesday afternoon. His death will be a shock to a wide circle of friends throughout the county. Senator Williams was thirty-six years of age and in full vigor of health when stricken with influenza, from which pneumonia developed. His condition was serious from the first, but everybody hoped that his youth and strength would enable him to combat the disease. He had the promise of a bright future. He had already established a good practice at the bar of Washington City and in his native county; he had served acceptably as a member of the House of Delegates, and a year ago was elected to the Senate, where he took a leading part and exhibited aptitude for public affairs. Self-reliant, painstaking and industrious, his friend looked forward to his rise with confidence; and his affable manners and cheerful disposition established substantial popularity wherever he was known. Senator Williams is survived by his widow, who was before her marriage Miss Mollie Pessou, of New Orleans, La., and two little daughters, whose ages are 3 and 2 years, respectively; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Williams, and one brother, Mr. John T. Williams.
