DILLON PASSES AWAY Died at His Home in Lamoni After Protracted Illness. James Dillon passed quietly into the sleep of death on the evening of November 15, 1910, after about two years of gradual failing in heaIth. His age was 50 years, 10 months and 16 days, born in Jackson county, Iowa, December 29, 1859. His parents came to this county in 1871, from Amboy, Illinois. Later they lived three years in Clinton county, Missouri, but returned here in 1876. On February 25, 1885, he was united in marriage to Miss Elmina J. Blair, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Winthrop H. Blair. Two daughters were born to them, Amy, now Mrs. Roy Rogers, and Blair, who died nine years ago at the age of 9 years. Besides the wife and daughter left to mourn, are the aged mother, now in her eighty fourth year, and one sister, Mrs. William Barrett, three brothers, Frank Charles and Riley Dillon, his half-brother, Mr. Aurora Shumway, of Lamoni, and his brother Edward, in California. There are also nephews, nieces, and other kindred here and elsewhere. There was a large attendance at the funeral service held at the Saints' church on Thursday afternoon. A about fifty ladies and gentlemen, members of the lodges of Odd Fellows, the Rebekahs, and the Modern Woodmen attended in a body and six of this number acted as bearers. As Mr. Dillon was well and formerly known for his upright and worthy life, therefore, many came with feelings of respect and love to attend the funeral. Elder John Smith was in charge of the services. Elder F. A. Smith offered the prayer at the residence, Elder J. R. Lambert made the invocation at the church and Elder H. A.
