Born June 1, 1932, in Flintstone, he was the son of the late Carl Browning and Margaret Irene (Beegle) Browning. He was preceded in death by a son, Carl Richard Browning Sr.; and one sister, Jackie McCartney. He was a graduate of Flintstone High School. Mr. Browning was a United States veteran serving in the Army during Korean Conflict. He worked as a blacksmith for the B & O Railroad and he worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator... Read More	— FLINTSTONE,MARYLAND -- James E. Browning, 78, of Flintstone, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. Born June 1, 1932, in Flintstone, he was the son of the late Carl Browning and Margaret Irene (Beegle) Browning. He was preceded in death by a son, Carl Richard Browning Sr.; and one sister, Jackie McCartney. He was a graduate of Flintstone High School. Mr. Browning was a United States veteran serving in the Army during Korean Conflict. He worked as a blacksmith for the B & O Railroad and he worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator on Construction. He was a member of The Glendale Church of the Brethren in Flintstone. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Joann Browning; one son, James E. Browning and wife Mollee of Flintstone; five grandchildren, Ricky and wife, Misti, Adam and wife, Amanda, Crystal, Tristan and Jared; four great-grandchildren, Boe, Cole, Matthew, and Aiden. Also, surviving are three sisters, Carolyn Brouillard of Flintstone, Ruth Kimble, and Jean Kimble of Flintstone; and numerous nieces and nep-hews. Friends will be received at the Glendale Church of the Brethren, Flintstone Creek Road, Flintstone, on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011 from 9 to 11 a.m. The funeral services will be conducted at the Church on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Richard Ketterman officiating. Interment will follow in the Glendale Cemetery, Flintstone. Serving as Pallbearers will be Adam, Tristan, Ricky, Brad, Michael, and BJ and Honorary Pallbearers, Leo Mallow, Ronnie Clapp, and Bob Clites. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Glendale Church of the Brethren, Flintstone Creek Road, Flintstone, MD 21530 or Flintstone Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 105, Flintstone, MD 21530.
