Mr. Roberts was a member and former deacon of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. He was also a former committee member of the Carolina Baptist Association. Born October 8, 1947 in Conway, he was the son of the late Inez Roberts Capps. Mr. Roberts was a member and former deacon of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. He was also a former committee member of the Carolina Baptist Association. Mr. Roberts was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War. He was a gentle and hardworking man who will be missed dearly. Mr. Roberts was truly a gentleman that stepped up to many unheralded tasks and did them all in love for his country and family. His love for his family especially his girls was easily recognized. Mr. Roberts was an avid supporter of his grandchildren, and all of their many endeavors. He was their biggest fan. Mr. Roberts will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Along with his mother, he was predeceased by a brother, Eddie Capps. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Brenda Cook Roberts; two daughters, Kimberly Roberts Prosser (Darrell) and Fara Roberts Gasque (Garrett), all of Aynor; five grandchildren, Luke Prosser, Quinn Prosser (Caroline), Grant Prosser, Blair Gasque, and Garrison Gasque; one brother, J.C. Capps (Wanda); and a sister-in-law, Lynn Capps. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church with Rev. Garrett Gasque and Rev. Donnie Graham officiating. For those that are not able to attend the church service, a graveside committal with Military Honors will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at the church. Due to COVID-19 and CDC regulations, masks and social distancing are required. Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
