Gunsolley. who passed away with a heart attack at the home of his son, Gerald Gunsolley, of Burlington, Iowa. Lamoni was again shocked and Saddened Friday by the news of the sudden death of one of its citizens. J. E. Gunsolley. who passed away with a heart attack at the home of his son, Gerald Gunsolley, of Burlington, Iowa. Mr. GunsoIley had been in Burlington about four weeks having gone with the idea of remaining the rest of the winter or until time to begin making a garden. He had been as active as usual and his sudden death was a severe blow Ito his family and friends. James E. Gunsolley, son of Noah M. and Mary E. Gunsolley, was born December 27, 1857, in Deleware county, Iowa, on a farm. He died at the home of his son, Gerald in Burlington, Iowa, Friday, February 10, 1939, at the age of 81 years, one month, and 13 days. He, with his father's family, removed to Mills county, Iowa, when he was about 10 years of age. The family resided later in Harrison and Shelby counties on farms where he grew to manhood. Mr. GunsoIley's education was limited to the elementary grades, his work being required on the farm in order to help earn the living for a large family of six brothers and three sisters. He was married to Alice I. Gamet to which union was born one daughter and two sons, Blanche Lorena Shearer, who died in the summer of 1937, Floyd B., of Lamoni, and Gerald, of Burlington Iowa. In June 1928 Mr. and Mrs. Gunsolley moved to Lamoni where he has made his home until the time of his death. He was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints on October 12, 1884, and was ordained an elder to which faith he remained true to the last. His companion preceded him in death on December 5, 1935. He is survived by his two sons, three brothers, one sister, 13 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and many other relatives, and a host of friends. The body was brought to Lamoni Saturday by the White Ambulance service where the funeral services were held at the White Funeral Home Monday morning at 10 o'clock with R. A. CheriIle preaching the sermon. Music was furnished by Ruth Harder and Jean McCormick with Velma Stuart at the piano. The pallbearers were Elmer Green. Fred Ballantyne, Robert Ballantyne, Roy Derry, Arthur Lane, A. J. Yarrington, and Charley Hyde. Interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery. Relatives attending the services from out-of-town were Leslie Shearer and family of Pisgah, Iowa, William Suart and son, Carol, and daughter Este, of Boone, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Gamet and daughter, Vida, of Gallatin, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Gunsolley and family of Burlington, Iowa.
