James was born on the family farm near Newcastle to Winifred (Anderson) and Irving Addison Sr. He attended Newcastle High School and graduated in 1965. Jim was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. Jim met Betty Jo at a church dance in Sioux City, Iowa. They married on Feb. 27, 1993. James was born on the family farm near Newcastle to Winifred (Anderson) and Irving Addison Sr. He attended Newcastle High School and graduated in 1965. Jim was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. Jim met Betty Jo at a church dance in Sioux City, Iowa. They married on Feb. 27, 1993. He had a career with the National Weather Service for 15 years in Valley. As best friends, he and B.J. enjoyed Husker football, golf, traveling, fishing, hanging out with the dogs, listening to old time country music, spending time with family and friends, and always enjoying a good laugh. Survivors include: his wife, Betty Jo "B.J." Addison of Fremont; a son, Peter Addison (and wife, Linda) of Denver; daughters, Laura Addison of Casper, Wyo., Jennica (and husband, Jim) Kuck and children, Quinn and Kendra, of Underwood, Iowa, Terri (and husband, Michael) Holeton and children, Denver, Daeton and Delaney, of Glenwood, Iowa, and Jamie (and husband, Zachary) Shacklett and daughter, Baiya, of Lincoln; a sister, Wally Gifford (and husband, Joe) of Tabor, S.D.; a brother, Jerry Addison of South Sioux City; two sisters-in-law, Joann Addison of South Sioux City and Nancy Ann Hetrick of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Irving Addison Sr.; his mother, Winifred (Anderson) Addison; two brothers, Irving Lee Addison Jr. and Larry Addison; sister-in-law, Phyllis Addison, and infant son, Paul Michael Addison; sister-in-law, Jeannette Addison; his constant companion Coco and his other beloved four legged companions. The funeral will be at Dugan Funeral Chapel in Fremont. Memorials have been established to the Dodge County Humane Society — For the care of large dogs and Domesti-Pups.
