It was generally thought that he was improving and we had expected that he would be up again. He was a member of the Modern Woodman of America and A.H.T.A. and was always to be found at their meetings. He will be missed by his Brethren. James Elmer Ausemus was born near Jacksonville, Ill., October 1, 1864. He moved with his parents to the old home place when about 21 years of age, where he has resided since. He was married to Addie Rex December 1887. To this union four children were born, all of whom are living, and were present at his bedside when the last came. Mr. Ausemus has been a faithful companion and father, as well as a highly esteemed citizen in the community. Mr. Ausemus suffered a stroke of paralysis on Friday the 14th and lingered until the morning of the 16th, when he quietly passed away. He was 58 years, 11 months, and 25 days of age at his death. There are left to mourn his death his faithful companion, four children: Carl of Hiattville, Mrs. Ada Armstrong of Pittsburg, Elmer of Pullman, Washington and Lloyd at home. Also his mother, Mrs. A.J. Ausemus and two sisters and one brother, Miss Emma of Chicago, Miss Ollie at home with the mother and Prof. Chas. Ausemus of St. Clair, Ill. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at the home at 2 o'clock by Rev. E.L. Torrence of the M.E. Church and interment made in the Cherokee cemetery.
