Married Mabel Loretta (Blotz) Austin on November 19th, 1941 in Newcastle, WY. They previously lived in Sturgis, SD until they moved to California in 1953. They had 11 children; Their infant daughter, Joanne Frances, is also interred on the same plot. He grew up on a ranch in North Dakota and then went into the Army. He served as a Staff Sargent in the Army in World War II. After he returned from war, he worked until the mid-1950s at a utility company in South Dakota. He worked from 1956 to 1980 as a pipe fitter and then all the way up to a supervisor for the Lawrence Livermore Laboratory (originally known as the University of California radiation lab). He retired in 1980. On the side, he did a lot or charity work with the St. Vincent De Paul Society and the Young Men's Institute. A rosary was done at the chapel of Callaghan Mortuary in Livermore at 7pm on Tuesday, April 17th, 1984, and the funeral mass was done at St. Michael's Church in Livermore at 7pm on Wednesday, April 18th, 1984. NOTE: Jimmy is my great-uncle, Mabel is my great-aunt (her sister Helen is my grandmother), and Joanne Frances is my cousin. ~Alina
