On 1 May 1884, James married Hattie Estella Owens the daughter of daughter David of Sarah Hollar Owens. In 1908 he followed the call of the Gospel and became an obedient follower of Jesus Christ. He made his home in Braddyville, IA for about 26 years. A part of his life he spent in Mt. Vernon SD as president a bank and later a proprietor of a hardware store. He made his home in Braddyville, IA for about 26 years. A part of his life he spent in Mt. Vernon SD as president a bank and later a proprietor of a hardware store. He was very prominent in the development of Davison SD, doing a great service for that part of the Dakotas. He was a man of fine business qualifications He was a member of the Masonic Order and held the exalted position of Knight of Templar and was for a number of years and was very active member. Surviving Family: Wife: Hattie Estella Owens Reynolds All four sons: Claude Anthony Reynolds of Bedford, IA James Leonard of Ottumwa, IA Earl Owen of Greenfield, IA Romaine Russell of Oklahoma City, OK Services were at the home with Rev J A McKenzie of Braddyville Christian Church officiating and burial followed in Braddyville Cemetery with letter stones standing silent sentinels marking his place. His four sons, his brother in-law Dave Owens and his son carrying him to his final resting place.
