Description	:	James Floyd DeHart was born at Union, Monroe County, West Virginia, to George Jackson and Sarah (Skaggs) DeHart on October 2, 1861 and passed away at his home in Dundy county, Nebraska, northwest of Benkelman, Nebraska, November 11, 1920 at the age of 59 years, 1 month and 9 days. His sickness was leakage of the heart and was of very short duration, being confined to his bed but one day. He was so brave, never complaining even to the end. Read More	James Floyd DeHart was born at Union, Monroe County, West Virginia, to George Jackson and Sarah (Skaggs) DeHart on October 2, 1861 and passed away at his home in Dundy county, Nebraska, northwest of Benkelman, Nebraska, November 11, 1920 at the age of 59 years, 1 month and 9 days. His sickness was leakage of the heart and was of very short duration, being confined to his bed but one day. He was so brave, never complaining even to the end. He was confirmed at the age of eighteen, later reclaimed at Benkelman in 1908 but not affiliating with any church but lived a conscientuous life before God and to his home. He was married at McDonald, Kansas on July 1, 1888 to Rose Vallier, living together until her death, about 20 months. To whom one child was born, Floyd Harrison DeHart. Later in 1893, May 7, he was married to Blanche Barnhart at McDonald, Kansas. To this union was born five children, Mrs. Vearl Kitt of Wauneta, Nebraska (Eva); Hazel Blanche DeHart; Mrs. Arthur Little (Lela); LeRoy Coleman DeHart and Rosella Ernestine DeHart, all of Benkelman, Nebraska, Survivors are his wife, Blanche DeHart, his 6 children, Floyd DeHart, Eva Kitt, Hazel DeHart, Lela Little, LeRoy DeHart and Ernestine DeHart, three sisters and one brother besides other friends and relatives. His parents both having preceded him to the Heavenly home. He was a loving and protecting husband and father. His ambition for this life was for the betterment of his wife and children and for the future life, a home in heaven.
