Description	:	James was the son of Carlo Antonio Sofie and Maria Brigida Fezzuoglio. He married Ruth McBride on 6 August 1927 at Port Townsend. He later married Marguerite Keas on 12 March 1938 in Maryland. Marguerite was the daughter of Inez and Arthur Keas. Ruth McBride and Fred A. M. Lundgaard made an application for marriage in 1938. Fred A.M. Lundgaard married Jeane M Andaarson on 11 October 1941 in Seattle. Fred died on 5 November 1969 in Seattle, Washington. Jeane M. Lundgaard died on 30... Fred A.M. Lundgaard married Jeane M Andaarson on 11 October 1941 in Seattle. Fred died on 5 November 1969 in Seattle, Washington. Jeane M. Lundgaard died on 30 January 1969. in Seattle, Washington, "Former Jefferson County assessor James F. Sofie died in a Sequim nursing home Sept. 20 at the age of 79. Mr. Sofie served as a Democrat in the Assessor's post for 18 years, retiring in 1974. He served in the Navy 30 years, entering as an enlisted man in 1923, retiring in 1953 as a lieutenant. He then coordinated civilian transportation at Fort Worden prior to entering county politics. He ws born Sept. 12, 1904 at Port Townsend, the son of Brigida and Carl Sofie. He attended school in Port Townsend. He was a member of Port Townsend Elks Lodge No. 317, and American Legion Post No. 26 of Port Townsend. In 1938 he married Marguerite Keas in Maryland. She survives at the family home. Other survivors include three brother, Louie and Peter in Port Townsend and Martin in Seattle; four sisters, Caroline Caldwell and Mary Daubenberger of Port Townsend, Rose Lee of Panorama City, and Marie McNamara of Olympia. A funeral service will be conducted Sept. 22 at 1 p.m. on St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Townsend with the Rev. Fr. Desmond McMahon officiating.
