Description	:	James Lemon, of Methodist Grove near Nodaway, Iowa, died at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Oscar Stadler, Saturday morning, January 23, 1909. The deceased was born in Dearborn county, Indiana, November 15, 1827, and at the time of his death was 81 years, 2 months and 8 days of age. The subject of this sketch was twice married. His second wife was Miss... Read More	James Lemon, of Methodist Grove near Nodaway, Iowa, died at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Oscar Stadler, Saturday morning, January 23, 1909. The deceased was born in Dearborn county, Indiana, November 15, 1827, and at the time of his death was 81 years, 2 months and 8 days of age. The subject of this sketch was twice married. His first wife was Miss Delilah Lacox and to this union were born seven children, five of whom preceded their father to the world beyond, leaving but two sons, Newton and John Lemon, of Los Gutus, California. His second wife was Miss Eliza Garnett. His home was at Brooks for a number of years and there he lost his second wife. From Brooks be moved to Villisca and about fifteen years ago he went to California to make his home with his sons. About a year ago he returned to Iowa and has since made his home with his granddaughters, Mrs. Oscar Stalder and Mrs. Arthur Brown of near Nodaway, Iowa. His last illness was of but one week's duration. He had been in feeble health for the last two years but was always cheerful. He often said, "I am ready and willing to go when the Lord is ready to take me." The funeral was conducted by Rev. E. W. Bates of Brooks, Sunday afternoon, at 2:30, and his body was laid to rest in Methodist Grove Cemetery. Many friends extend sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
