Returning, I brought a favorite niece with me, Almeda E. Parliament (later Mrs. Joel Burrow #2), a teacher, daughter of my sister, Lucy. We stopped in Chicago long enough to get a little boy whom I had previously arranged to adopt. He was about fourteen months old. We named him Jamie Garfield.
