Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2012, at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Florence at 11:00 a.m. with burial following in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 28 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Waters-Powell Funeral Home. Born in Florence on August 6, 1921, he was the son of the late Thomas Benton Young, Sr. and Mary Evelyn Brown Young. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Florence Hunter Young. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Ms. Beattie Perry Young and a brother, Thomas Benton Young, Jr., and his wife Mrs. Sara Moye Young. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Steven R. Ross, all of Mr. Young's caregivers, and especially to Ms. Wonelle Fulmore for many years of dedicated service.
