He was born Oct. 6, 1933 in Vinton, a son of Earl and Myrtle Geater. He married Mary Gury, Feb. 6, 1960, in Cedar Falls. He was married in March, 1978 to June Thompson at Prescott. He was born Oct. 6, 1933 in Vinton, a son of Earl and Myrtle Geater. He married Mary Gury, Feb. 6, 1960, in Cedar Falls. He was married in March, 1978 to June Thompson at Prescott. Surviving are his wife, June, of Prescott; one son, Glenn, of Arizona; one daughter, Sherry, of Arizona; one stepson, Wayne, of Arizona; one stepdaughter, Wendy, of Arizona; his father and stepmother, Earl and Jessie Geater, of Vinton; two sisters, Elma Geater of rural Vinton and Susan Kay Strohecker of Waterloo; and one brother, Duane, of Independence. He was preceded in death by his mother. The body has been cremated. A service will be held at Vinton at a later date, with arrangements by Campbell-Russell Funeral Home.
