Mills died at his home on upper Main St. Sunday night, aged 79 years. The deceased was born in Spotsylvania and in early life came to this city to live. When Messers. Kelly, Tackett and Ford erected the Woolen Mills of this city prior to the war of 1861-1865 Mr. Mills became an employee. He continued with the mills during the regime of the different owners of the property and was in the employ of Messrs. Melville and Duvall when they were burned several years ago. He was the last of the old employees connected with the mills. Of late years he had been feeble, owing to a paralytic attack which he suffered. He was a quiet retiring citizen, attended strictly to his own business, let others alone and was highly respected. He had been married three times, was a widower at the time of his death and leaves five children: Mrs. W. C. Smith, of this city, and Mrs. Agnes Thompson, of Washington, by his first wife; Mrs. Eliza Coe, of New York, by his second and Misses Olive and Jeannette Mills by his third. Two brothers, Mr. Alexandr Mills, of this city, and Mr. Benjamin Mills, of Washington. One sister, Mrs. Jane Phillips, of this city. Funeral will be held from Baptist church Tuesday at 3 p. m., conducted by Rev. R. A. Williams. Interment in family lot in City Cemetery. Pallbearers--Messrs. W. S. Chesley, S. E. Eastburn, J.
