Description	:	December 5, 1918 ~ ExSheriff James Hamilton, aged 64, died Friday evening, November 29, at his farm home in Harrisville township. He had been bedridden and helpless for eight weeks, due to injuries to his spine received in a fall from the mow of his barn during threshing time. Mr. Hamilton was born in Canada March 4, 1854, and came to Harrisville ten years later with his parents. With the exception of a few years spent in the west, he resided here continuously thereafter. Read More	December 5, 1918 ~ ExSheriff James Hamilton, aged 64, died Friday evening, November 29, at his farm home in Harrisville township. He had been bedridden and helpless for eight weeks, due to injuries to his spine received in a fall from the mow of his barn during threshing time. Mr. Hamilton was born in Canada March 4, 1854, and came to Harrisville ten years later with his parents. With the exception of a few years spent in the west, he resided here continuously thereafter. He was one of the best known citizens of the county and was universally estemed. As sheriff of the county for four years (1913- 1916) he was a popular official and his cheerful, happy disposition made him friends everywhere. He is survived by his widow and three daughters—Miss Blanch living at home, Mrs. Max Carriveau of Greenbush and Mrs. Earl Crandall of Harrisville. There are also two brothers, Alexander of Flint and Geo. of California, and two sisters, Mrs. James Thornton of Harrisville and Mrs. Flora Buchanan living in the west. Funeral services were held in the M. E. church Monday afternoon, the Rev. Fred A. Andrews officiating. The burial service was held at the West cemetery under the auspices of Alcona Lodge No. 292 F. & A. M., of which the deceased was a member.
