Born Nov. 29, 1928, in Garrett County, he was a son of the late Ira Wheat Weeks and Elma (Shaffer) Weeks. He was also preceded in death by two grandchildren. He was a retired food service manager for the Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from the National Guard with many years of service. He was a life member of Post 10077 VFW and Post 71 American Legion. He was an alumnus of the FFA. Survivors include his wife, Lula (Upole) Weeks; four daughters, [name withheld], Oakland, [name withheld], Bloomington, [name withheld], Oakland, and [name withheld], Baltimore; two sons, James H. Weeks Jr. and [name withheld], both of Oakland; three brothers, [name withheld], Deer Park, [name withheld], Baltimore, and [name withheld], Mtn. Lake Park; four sisters, [name withheld], Mtn. Lake Park, [name withheld], Ravenna, Ohio, [name withheld], Oakland, and [name withheld], Mechanicsville, Va.; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland. A service was conducted at the Pleasant View Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 1, with the Rev. Wally Weeks officiating. Interment was in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Military rites were accorded at the cemetery by members of local veterans organizations.
