Description	:	Obituary published in The Moravia Union, Thursday, January 15, 1931: "James Harvy McCauley was born in Ohio, December 4, 1838 and died January 12, 1931 at the age of 92 years, 1 month and 8 days. When three years old he came with his parents from Ohio to Fairfield, Iowa, and soon afterward to Appanoose county, which has since been his home. On September 22, 1867 he was united in marriage with Marriage with Martha Jane Dean, who died February 11, 1904. To this union eight children were born, four of whom preceded both parents in death. Mr. McCauley is survived by three sons, Ray D. of Webster City, Charles E. of Chicago, Ned of Des Moines, and one daughter, Stella, who has made her home with him in recent years. There are also eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. McCauley is the last of his immediate family. He leaves only three nephews, living in Ohio. James McCauley has for many years been a member of the Masonic lodge. Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist Church, Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, Rev. B.G. Hankins officiating. Members of the Masonic lodge attended in a body and had a part in the services. Interment was made in the Moravia cemetery." --------------------------------------------------- J.H. Laird is the brother of my 3rd great-grandmother, Mariah (McCauley) Evans. It's highly probable (most likely) that he is buried in Appanoose County with his children since it's where he lived for the majority of his adulthood and is where he died.
