Description	:	His parents were Thomas N. Berryman (26 Sep 1811, Ohio Co., KY - 1847, Hartford, Ohio, KY) and Jane Eliza Bell (1812, VA - abt 1857). There were two Thomas N. Berryman's in Hartford living about the same time. Jane later married a Wallace. He married (1) Mary Comstock on 28 November 1866 in Jefferson County, Nebraska. She died before 1870, (2) Catherine Jane Howsley 6 Aug 1871 in Omaha, Douglas, NE and (3) her sister, Amana Lutetia Howsley in 1879 in Leavenworth, KS. Jane later married a Wallace. He married (1) Mary Comstock on 28 November 1866 in Jefferson County, Nebraska. She died before 1870, (2) Catherine Jane Howsley 6 Aug 1871 in Omaha, Douglas, NE and (3) her sister, Amana Lutetia Howsley in 1879 in Leavenworth, KS. He was killed by a local westbound passenger train while walking on the tracks in Central City. As a young man he went to Bowling Green, KY, and found work as a harness maker and saddler. He moved to Uniontown, KY, and became his own harness maker. He enlisted in the Confederate Army as a musician. He was captured at the Battle of Resaca and taken to the Federal prison at Rock Island, IL. He stayed there 12 to 18 months and then enlisted in the Union Army and was sent to the west to guard the frontier against the Indians. He served in Company H in the 3rd Infantry and attained the rank of Seargent. At the close of the war he was honorably discharged and moved to Milford, NE, and settled on a farm. In 1866 he moved to Central City, NE, (then called Lone Tree) and engaged in the mercantile business. Apart from the depot and section house, he erected the fist frame building that the city had. He added a residence to the building the following year (1869). In this structure the first session of district court was held. His brother, Bell, was his partner for many years. He has a daughter, Minnie Ola Berryman, by his second wife, Catherine, who married John Magner.
