He was ever a patient and hopeful sufferer, and in spite of being confined to his bed for seven weeks prior to his death, he never till the last, gave up hope. Mr. Webb was born in Mercer County, Ohio, March 10, 1864, the son of E. C. and Nanly Webb. When six years of age he came with his parents and settled at Brighton, Iowa. He was the second of a family of five children one brother and two sisters with his father and mother having preceded him in death. One sister, Mrs. Olive Laux of Neosha, Missouri, is still living. On February 21, 1889 he was married to Miss Maggie Bensmiller of Sigourney and began housekeeping on a farm three miles southwest of Sigourney. To this union six children were born. They are Charles and Will H. of Sigourney, Mrs. John Osweiler of Kinross, Mrs. George Dumont of Sigourney, Anna at home and Frank of Harper. Besides his loving wife and children he leaves nineteen grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends, all of whom will greatly miss him, as he was ever a home loving man, and never enjoyed himself better than when among his family circle. Funeral services were held at St. Mary's church Tuesday at 10 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Father Hauser with burial at the west cemetery.
