Description	:	James Henry Wilson was born in Marshal, Michigan, August 23, 1852, and died in Nicholas Senn hospital Omaha Nebraska, July 29, 1930, aged 77 years, 11 months and 6 days. In 1873, Mr. Wilson came with his parents to Onawa, Iowa. Three years later they came into Nebraska purchasing and improving the farm nine miles northeast of Lyons in school district No. 38, which retains the name Wilson District. On March 15, 1877 James H. Wilson was united in marriage with Grace Arabelle Rogers who preceded him in death in May 7, 1916. Nine children survive this union: Francis Don/Dow? Wilson (Lucille Gates Wilson), Ruth Lovina Eddy (Ernest O. Eddy), Carleton Rogers Wilson (Fay Latta), James Ray "Ray" Wilson (Helen McAllister), Mary Agnes Brewer (Jasper Brewer), Alonzo Henry "Lon" Wilson (Ica "Dott" Hurlocker), Dena Arabelle Major (Don Scott Major), Florence May Chase (Glen Chase), Alice Crawford Major (Alford Monroe Major). Preceding them in death are Anna V. Wilson born 1883 died 1886 near Burlington, Colorado where she is buried and an infant son Arthur R. Wilson who was born and died in 1900 and is buried in the Wilson family plot in Lyons Nebraska. There are twenty seven grandchildren. For forty-six years Mr. Wilson lived in or near Lyons. In 1922 he was married to Mrs. Kittie Thurston Talmage a friend and neighbor of the earlier Onawa days. The past eight years they have made their home in Ralston, Nebraska. Mrs. Wilson survives him. Of strong physique Mr. Wilson had no trouble requiring the care of a physician until two weeks ago and was pronounced seriously ill only six days before his death. He was a lover of ourdooor life, the birds, the animals, and the tilling of the soil. He was a kind and just man, upright and honest in his living. The funeral services were held in the Methodist chruch at Lyons and were conducted by Rev. Roy Larsen of the Riverside Baptist Church. Rev Larson's theme in his personal talk was "Human Friendship", emphasizing it as one of Mr. Wilson's strong beliefs. Interment was in the Lyons cemetery July 31, 1930. The pallbearers were six nephews: Clyde Rogers, Layton Rogers, Frank Rogers, Jas W. Connealy, Bernard Connealy, and Paul Connealy.
