Mr. Dunn, the son of James Franklin Dunn and Pearl Lofton Dunn, was born on July 25, 1936 in Andrews. He was a 1954 graduate of Andrews High School. Mr. Dunn, the son of James Franklin Dunn and Pearl Lofton Dunn, was born on July 25, 1936 in Andrews. He was a 1954 graduate of Andrews High School. He attended Emmanuel College and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Presbyterian College of South Carolina. He was the owner and operator of Dunn’s Variety Store. Jimmy was a pillar in the Andrews community serving as Santa’s helper for many children and a “candy man” where he took brown bags of candy to the elderly and to his doctors. He was a 15-year board member of the Georgetown County Water & Sewer District. He was an Eagle Scout and an avid golfer. He was a lifetime member of the Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church where he served as a deacon. He was a devoted husband, beloved father and grandfather, loving brother, and cherished friend. He was a man of Godly character who leaves behind a Christian legacy to all who knew him. Jimmy and Jeanette were happily married and spent 56 years together. Their home was blessed with three children, James H Dunn, Jr. (DeAnne), Jana Carter (Terrell), and Jennifer Dunn Ward; and four grandchildren, Cameron Dunn, Trevor Dunn, Chase Carter, and Kristen Ward. He also leaves behind a brother, Ben Dunn, and two sisters, Katherine Harrison and Jeanette Buice (Joe). He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, Vivian Hardee (Ernest) and Rachael Jennings (Bill); and a sister-in-law, Beverly Dunn. Visitation will be 6-8PM, Monday, April 29, 2019, in the sanctuary of Andrews Pentecostal Holiness Church. A Home Going Celebration will be 2 p.m, Tuesday, April 30th in Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Interment will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery, directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
