Foster, on the Paris Mountain Road, yesterday morning at 4:20 o'clock, (3/7/1937). Mr. Turner had been in declining health for some time. He was a North Carolinian by birth , but with his parents came to this city while quite young, and had spent most of his life here. Read More	___________________________________________________________ James Irvin Turner obituary ; James Irvin Turner , 84 , retired carpenter, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E.C. Foster, on the Paris Mountain Road, yesterday morning at 4:20 o'clock, (3/7/1937). Mr. Turner had been in declining health for some time. He was a North Carolinian by birth , but with his parents came to this city while quite young, and had spent most of his life here. Mr. Turner was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist church in West Greenville, where he was a attendant as long as his health permitted. During his active years, he was ?or 35 years employed at the American Spinning Company. His wife, Mrs. Frances J. (Hughes) Turner, died 15 years ago. One son, B.L. Turner, of Oklahoma City, Okla., and three daugheres, Mrs A.J. Lee, of Pacolet ; Mrs. E.C. Foster and Mrs. Mary Madison, both of Greenville, survive him. His is also survived by two brothers, J.P. Turner, of Buford, Ga., and T.F. Turner, of Hendersonville N.C.; by one sister, Mrs. Mattie T. Heatherly, of Spartanburg; by 33 grandchildren and by 43 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at Bethel Methodist church , conducted by the Rev. A.G. Cudd and the Rev. J.A. Chandler. Interment will be in the American Spinning company cemetery. The following grandsons of Mr. Turner will serve as the pallbearers: Eugene Lee, Adger Turner, Robert Lee , Lonnie Hammond, Charles Hammond and Eugene Freeman. Honorary pallbearers: Arthur Miller, Henry Stalley, Homer Cooper, George Bayne, Grover Batson, Dr. R.M. Dacus, Gentry Barton, Bud Barton, Joe Prince and John DuPre. Pending the funeral hour, the body is at the home of Mrs. Mary Madison, 30 West Main Street, Woodside Mills. _________________________________________________________
