He was born on Nov. 20, 1939, in Waterville, the son of Arthermise (Giguere) and Percy L. Butler Sr. He was educated in local schools. Jim's entire career was in food service and he was a chef at Colby College for over 35 years. Read More	WATERVILLE - James J. Butler, 76, of Waterville, died on Feb. 23, 2016, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta, after a lengthy illness. He was born on Nov. 20, 1939, in Waterville, the son of Arthermise (Giguere) and Percy L. Butler Sr. He was educated in local schools. Jim's entire career was in food service and he was a chef at Colby College for over 35 years. Food was not only his work but also his hobby, and his tourtiere meat pies were a greatly anticipated and welcomed Christmas gift. Jim was a quiet man who preferred life in the city to living in the country, and he enjoyed walking wherever he had to go. He will be remembered as a man who was very organized and could be set in his ways. He always had a good word for everybody, which was fitting for a man who was very loving and caring, easygoing and attentive to family and friends. He is survived by his brother Percy "Sonny" Butler and his wife Priscilla "Pat" of Canton, and their eight children: Donna, Wayne, Timothy, James, Rhonda, Allison, Kevin and Percy; his friend and love of over 40 years, Roberta "Yvette" Moreau of Waterville; as well as a large extended family. He was predeceased by his three sisters: Shirley Butler, Jacqueline Ouellette and Christine Butler. Burial will be private in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
