Description	:	James JENNINGS Birth: 14 DEC 1855 in Mill Cove, Lunenburg, NS The obituary notice for Crosby JENNINGS, s/o James JENNINGS and his third wife, Catherine Zenobia HARNISH, lists two siblings and from the look of the obit, it would not have distinguished between half-siblings and full siblings. At any rate, it mentions a sister named Matilda, and a brother named Ellison. Also, Marshall Milton JENNINGS states that his father Freeman St. Clair JENNINGS, s/o James JENNINGS and his first wife, Dorcas Matilda JENNINGS, had half-sisters named Tilly [who married a DOUBLEDAY] and Hilda [who married a WILLIAMS]. Matilda is born 1897 to Catherine Zenobia and her first husband--Robert JENNINGS, and she appears with James and Catherine Zenobia as a ?half-daughter? in 1911. So she is almost certain to be Tillie. Hilda on the other hand is recognizable, from her Jul 1901 birth, as the d/o James and Isabella (Murphy) JENNINGS. Ellison is listed as the brother of Matilda in her obit, and the 1911 Census (where he appears with James and Catherine Zenobia as a ?full? son whereas Matilda is a ?half-daughter?) tells us that he was born 1907. Since Catherine Zenobia's first husband dies 1906 and she marries James 1906, Ellison thus seems almost certain to be the son of James and Catherine. We know from her obit that Matilda marries Edward DOREY and, since there is no known DOUBLEDAY who could be the husband of Matilda, nor is there any mention of a husband named DOUBLEDAY in her obit, I suspect that the name DOREY may have been confused with DOUBLEDAY.
