Description	:	James O. “Jim” Ellingson, age 59, of Watertown, SD, passed away at his residence on Friday, April 15, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2016, at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Watertown. Rev. Kent Stillson will officiate. Music will be provided by Marian Riddle as organist with Robbyn Givens as soloist. The family is requested to meet at the church by 10:00 a.m. on Thursday for a family prayer service. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown and prior to services at the church on Thursday.... The family is requested to meet at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday for a prayer service. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2016, at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown. Military graveside honors will be conducted by Codington County Post #17 of the American Legion and the Marine Corps League- Kampeska N.E. Det. #1079 both of Watertown. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug and Barb Schmidtgall Family, Scott and Nancy Aas Family, Dave Kimberly, Watertown Box Employees, Twin City Die Casting Employees and Family and Friends. Active pallbearers will be Al Ries, Justin Schmidtall, Mike Aas, Vince Gray, Wyatt Kingren and Chase Kingren. Jim was born on August 26, 1956, in Park River, ND, to James and Anna (Kovarik) Ellingson. Following his high school graduation, he enlisted in the US Marines. After an honorable discharge from the service, Jim drove truck for Johnson Potato Co. In 1983, he met Roxie Mather and they were married on April 27, 1985, in Fargo, ND. To this union one son, Travis, was born. After living in Adams, ND, for one year, the couple moved to Watertown, where Jim began working at Watertown Box. When Roxie became ill, he began working for Twin City Die Casting Co., where he was working at the time of his death. Roxie passed away on August 13, 2007. He loved hunting, fishing and riding his Harley. His greatest love was his grandson, Reed. Jim was very social with everyone from children to grandparents. Jim is survived by his son, Travis (Lauren) Ellingson, of Watertown; his grandson, Reed Ellingson, of Watertown; his mother, Anna Ellingson, of Adams, ND; three sisters: Gail (Dean) Osowski, of Drayton, ND, Jennine (Marshall) Gray, of Stanley, ND, and Janice Hillebrand of Elgin, ND; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Roxie; his father, James; his mother-in-law, Arline Mather; his father-in-law, Howard (Clarice) Mather; and his brother-in-law, Kirk Kingren.
