Description	:	OBIT: James "Jim" Kelly, 81, died April 1, 2003, at his home in Tumwater after a long illness. He was born in Seattle on October 8, 1921, the son of Michael and Veronica (Hickey) Kelly. He moved with his family to Ellensburg in 1932. He attended Lourdes Academy and graduated from Ellensburg High School in 1940. he also attended Central Washington College of Education before entering the Air Force in 1942. Read More	OBIT: James "Jim" Kelly, 81, died April 1, 2003, at his home in Tumwater after a long illness. He was born in Seattle on October 8, 1921, the son of Michael and Veronica (Hickey) Kelly. He moved with his family to Ellensburg in 1932. He attended Lourdes Academy and graduated from Ellensburg High School in 1940. he also attended Central Washington College of Education before entering the Air Force in 1942. He served in England as a B-17 bomber pilot and was a prisoner of war in Germany for 16 months. He owned and operated Kelly's Union Service Station at Eighth Avenue and Main Street for 10 years. He retired form the city of Ellensburg as shop and warehouse superintendent in 1983. Jim was a member of St. Andrews Catholic church and married Helen Taylor in Ellensburg on September 7, 1947. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Kathy (Scott) Beamer of Peachtree City, Georgia and Kristin Linder of Tumwater; grandchildren, John Linder, Jr. of Seattle, Jennie Linder of San Pedro, California and Emmalee (Ryan) Evans of Anacortes.
