Description	:	LANE, JAMES JOSEPH—James Joseph Lane, youngest son of James and Frances Lane, was born July 4, 1923, in Denver, Col., and passed away September 8, 1977, at Geneva. He grew up in Denver with his brother, Paul Raymond, and sister, Ann. He lived in Denver until 1942, at which time he married Leota Curl. A son, David L., was born to this union. In 1942 he enlisted in the Navy and was in the SeaBee division until 1945. His marriage was dissolved during this time and after his naval discharged he returned to Denver. He grew up in Denver with his brother, Paul Raymond, and sister, Ann. He lived in Denver until 1942, at which time he married Leota Curl. A son, David L., was born to this union. In 1942 he enlisted in the Navy and was in the SeaBee division until 1945. His marriage was dissolved during this time and after his naval discharged he returned to Denver. On September 22, 1946, he married Ardeen Hofferber and to this union one son and five daughters were born. He attended Adult Education classes in Lincoln and taught rural school until 1953, at which time he reenlisted in the Navy and moved to Oxnard, Cal. They resided there until 1961, when they returned to Geneva. His favorite job was driving truck for Herman Bros. He also enjoyed fishing whenever he could. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and youngest daughter, Vicki Lynn. Surviving his passing are his wife, Ardeen; sister, Ann Tadlock of Aurora, Col.; sons, David L. of Denver, Col., and James F. of Lincoln; four daughters, Mrs. Alan Doll (Linda) of Bruning, Mrs. Judy Phillips, Miss Janet Lane and Sandra Lane, all of Geneva; also one son-in-law and daughter-in-law and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Prince of Peace Lutheran church at Geneva on September 10, 1977, with Rev. Woodrow W. Wilson officiating. Pallbearers were Joe Dailey, Kenneth Hofferber, Loren Hofferber, Marvin Hofferber, Robert Hofferber, and Thomas Madison. Interment with military services was held at the Geneva cemetery in Geneva.
