He graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1939. On Aug. 24, 1949, Jim was united in marriage to Maycel Hartman at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ottumwa. Jim farmed all of his life on the family Century Farm and worked at Lowenbery Bakery, Jim was a lifetime member of St.Patrick Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and twin brothers, Mike an Maurice Rowland. Funeral Mass will be 10 am Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Patrick Hilgendorf presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews, Jim Larkin, Richard Larkin, Roger Rowland, Rob Davis, Bryan Hartman and Mike Scoblic. Visitation will begin at 1 pm today at Reece Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited at 4 pm today at the funeral home. The family will be present at the funeral home from 5-7 pm today. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church or Hospice, Ottumwa, Iowa.
