Born November 3, 1933, he was the son of the late Mayo Julian and Christine Carter Parr.Jimmy was the owner/operator of Nelson Lumber Company. He had served in the U.S. Navy, was a member of Rose Union Baptist Church, Fleetwood Harmony Masonic Lodge, and the Massies Mill Ruritan Club. Born November 3, 1933, he was the son of the late Mayo Julian and Christine Carter Parr.Jimmy was the owner/operator of Nelson Lumber Company. Parr (Joyce Lea) of Roseland; grandchildren, Courtney Williams, Kyle Sellers, Carter Davis, Heather Parr, Stewart Ore and Grace Parr, and five great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Parr Worsham (Tommy).A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2014, at Rose Union Baptist Church by the Rev. John Campbell and the Rev. Pete DuPlessis. Burial will follow at Harewood Cemetery.The family will receive friends following the service at the Piney River Volunteer Fire Department and at other times at the home of Jimmy and Joan Parr.Byrum-Parr Funeral Home is serving the family, 434-277-5194.The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Piney River Volunteer Fire Department, P.O.
